Devices such as eyeglasses and hearing aids provide accommodation for deficiencies of perceptual systems in the body (and/or their augmentation). In clinical studies, perceptual aids have been shown to have significant effects that are explained by neural plastic growth in response to the expanded stimulus to the receptive pathways. Use of hearing aids improves un-aided hearing. Monocular blanking treats amblyopia by forcing the weak eye to process more information. EnChroma glasses are optical assistive devices that help those with color vision deficiency (color blindness) see colors more like people with normal color vision. The glasses use a special spectral-filtering technology to enhance color vision--often quite profoundly and with unexpected results.Helping the Color blind see colors
